Imageware Revolutionary Multi-Patented Technology

An early pioneer in the biometric space, Imageware was one of the first to install facial recognition in US Law Enforcement in Los Angeles in the late 1990s. Today, ImageWare now holds 28 patents worldwide, with 14 pending, around biometric technology backed by a dedicated US Research and Development facility.

Multimodal Biometric Database Searching Methods
  • Patent Number: 9,286,528
  • Issued: 03/15/2016
  • Filed: 04/16/2014

Abstract
The present invention provides techniques for efficient searching of a multi-modal biometric database. Nested searching improves search efficiency by using the results of a previous biometric modality search to limit the search population for subsequent biometric searches. The method can also be used in combinations of non-biometric searches limiting subsequent biometric searches or vice versa.

Systems and Methods for Biometric Data Management Using Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
  • Patent Number: 9,268,904
  • Issued: 02/23/2016
  • Filed: 10/02/2013
  • Read Patent

Abstract
A structured query language (SQL) relational database management system (SQ RDBMS) may integrate a biometric subsystem to process and manage biometric data separately from the demographic data stored in normalized SQL tables of the SQL RDBMS. The SQL RDBMS may be operatively connected to the biometric subsystem by means of SQL extensions. The SQL RDBMS may execute queries with demographic and/or biometric constraints, wherein the demographic data is retrieved directly from normalized SQL tables on the RDBMS, while the biometric data is retrieved in the form of scores or probabilities from the biometric subsystem. The SQL RDBMS may return a query result set containing demographic data associated with corresponding biometric data, allowing the authentication of biometric clients.

Anonymous Biometric Identification
  • Patent Number: 9,262,613
  • Issued: 02/16/2016
  • Filed: 10/02/2012

Abstract
This disclosure describes methods for identifying an individual in an anonymous biometric authentication system, where an individual’s biometric data is captured by a device, and the resulting probe is compared with the templates in a previously enrolled population. The system comprises a Biographic Identity Management System having a non-anonymous sector in communication with an anonymous sector through a network cloud. The anonymous sector or Anonymous Biometric Identity Management System contains an index of tokens associated, each associated uniquely with a biometric template, which may then be compared with a biometric probe to determine the identity of an individual.

Anonymous Biometric Enrollment
  • Patent Number: 9,418,214
  • Issued: 08/16/2016
  • Filed: 10/02/2012

Abstract
In the present invention systems and methods to perform the biometric anonymous enrollment of an individual into an anonymous biometric engine are disclosed. An enrollment authority or client verifies the credentials of an individual and collects the biographic/demographic and biometric information. The biographic demographic information is stored by the enrollment authority and a token is generated for the individual; the biometric information and the token are sent to a biometric engine for storage. The stored information may be used to identify or verify individuals.

Biometric Remediation of Datasets
  • Patent Number: 7,949,156
  • Issued: 05/24/2011
  • Filed: 11/24/2006

Abstract
A method for analyzing a dataset comprising biographic data and biometric data is disclosed. In one step, a biographic record is read that is normally meant for unique description of an individual. A biometric associated with the biographic record is also read. The biometric is correlated with a plurality of biometrics associated with other biographic records. The uniqueness of the biometric is assessed with respect to the plurality of biometrics, for example, to find duplicate biographic records with biometric matching.

Abstract
A multimodal biometric identification or authentication system includes a plurality of biometric clients. Each of the biometric clients may include devices for capturing biometric images of a plurality of types. The system includes a router in communication with the biometric clients. The router receives biometric images from, and returns biometric scores or results to, the biometric clients. The system includes a plurality of biometric matching engines in communication with the router. Each biometric matching engine includes multiple biometric processors. Each biometric processor is adapted to process biometric data of a particular type. The biometric matching engines transmit and receive biometric data to and from the router.

Interactive Messaging System
  • Patent Number: 7,321,920
  • Issued: 11/20/2007
  • Filed: 11/16/2004

Abstract
The interactive messaging system of the present invention provides for an interactive communication process between users, both senders and recipients. The sender composes a message by filling in a template stored in data services. Once completed, the sender pushes the message to a recipient’s wireless device if the wireless device contains a WAP browser which is capable of receiving pushed messages. Typically the message includes a question along with answers for the recipient to choose from. Each answer corresponds with a pre-assigned response key and the recipient answers the question by selecting one of the pre-assigned response keys. The recipient’s response is available to the sender in the form of an e-mail, WAP Push, on-line access or interactive message that is shown to the sender on an on-line status screen.

Cloud-Based Biometric Enrollment, Identification and Verification Through Identity Providers
  • Patent Number: 2015378512
  • Issued: 15-10-2020
  • Filed: 31-12-2015
  • Read Patent

Abstract

Abstract: A system and method for cloud-based bio- metric enrollment, identification and verification are dis-closed. More specifically, a cloud-based system and method is used for enrollment of biometric templates. An identity provider serves as an interface between a service provider
and a biometric engine. Identity provider employs an open standards protocol such as Security Assertion Markup Lan-guage (SAML) or Openll) to exchange authentication data between the service provider and the biometric engine. Ser-vice provider employs embedded and/or externally attached hardware in client computing devices for capturing biomet-ric probes and client identity information. Subsequently, biometric engine generates biometric templates from the captured biometric probes and enrolls biometric templates and client identity information for use in identification and authentication in a subsequent transaction.

Abstract

A system and method for enabling out of band biometric verification is disclosed. The system includes a biometric engine coupled with an interactive messaging system and configured as an identity provider. The biometric identity provider includes a biometric enrollment process using open standard authentication protocols. The identity provider may answer calls generated by a service provider for biometric verification request for a user by sending an interactive message to a wireless mobile device associated to the user. The user captures and sends a biometric input to the identity provider. Biometrics provided by a user are compared by the biometric engine against biometric templates stored for that user in order to verify the user. The identity provider then sends a response back to the service provider. The service provider may grant or deny services to a user depending on the response.

Abstract

A verification system using additional factors such as biometrics can provide a tenant system with the ability to verify the identity of an end user. The enrollment and verification can be performed without sharing identity knowledge between the tenant and the verification ensuring the privacy of the end user. The enrollment and verification can also be performed in an auditable way while maintaining anonymity.
