Biometric Authentication and Access for Government

Numerous Industry Firsts for Government
Imageware got our start by supporting governments with innovative solutions. Our first product, SuspectID, was the first-of-its kind solution for law enforcement agencies, paving the way for biometric identification from federal to state and local governments. From that first product more than 25 years ago, Imageware has been on the forefront of developing cutting edge identity solutions to protect borders, citizens, police officers, and the military from the dangers of encountering unknown individuals.
From the first ever digital booking system to handheld biometric identification devices for the military to use in theater, we have a long history of working closely with government entities to solve their most pressing identity concerns with the certainty that only biometrics can offer.
Innovative Solutions to Unique Problems
In addition to providing agencies with solutions for law enforcement, border protection, and similar solutions, governments have contracted Imageware to address unique issues they were facing. The Mexican government sought a solution to provide multi-biometric identity management for visitor and access control at a government installation, and the Republic of Ecuador sought a biometric port security solution, including cargo scanning at seaports.
In response to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, Imageware provided several copies of its ID badging software to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to allow them to quickly identify and provide secure credentials to staff and volunteers at makeshift command centers for better management of disaster zones. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) contracted with Imageware to assist with identifying Afghan refugees seeking asylum in Australia and New Zealand.
Imageware donated a mobile identification solution to the New South Wales Police in Australia to aid the Tsunami Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team in identifying missing and unidentified disaster victims. And we teamed with the Mexican Consulate for a cutting-edge solution to help Mexican families find missing loved ones who crossed into the United States. The solution used biometrics to identify individuals in custody or unidentified remains, bringing much needed relief or closure to families.
